The Garden's Quiet Hunters

A few years ago I noticed my first praying mantis in our backyard. This summer, I found at least four. Most visitors come to the mint flower for nectar. The praying mantises come for the visitors. They sit quietly for hours, almost invisible, waiting for the next bee or fly to wander within reach.
