The Bee Box

After the lone queen died, I couldn't stop thinking about the next swarm that might arrive.

We gathered scrap wood, insulation foam, and leftover paint and built a simple bee box. It wasn't meant to be perfect. We just hoped that if another swarm needed a place to pause while searching for a home, it might find some shelter here. We added ventilation, branches for the bees to hang from, and placed it near a reliable water source. Whether they chose it or not was up to them.

Sometimes helping wildlife isn't about changing nature. It's about giving nature another option.
