One Plant, Many Lives

Every time I walk by a milkweed plant, I always stop to look for monarch caterpillars. This summer, I was surprised to find much more than monarchs.

The milkweed wasn't just supporting monarchs. It was home to milkweed tussock moth caterpillars, large milkweed bugs, bees, and many other small creatures. I hadn't realized how many different species depend on a single native plant. It reminded me that restoring habitat isn't always about attracting one special species. Sometimes it's about creating a place where an entire community can thrive.
